LeBron James Upper Deck Autograph Cards are our Hump Day Hits plus a Willie Mays Autograph update

It’s Wednesday so it’s time for another installment of Hump Day Hits.

Before we get to the new cards for this week, here is a small update on a post we did two weeks ago when we covered Willie Mays Certified autograph cards.
At the time we told you we had tracking the street values for his autograph cards and there seemed to be an upswing in prices. Not long after that post prices seemed to follow that trend as we saw certain autographs push to $300 and more. Well here is one card that ended in the day after our post, and there is no way we could have anticipated what would happen.

Blake Griffin Signs an Exclusive Agreement with Panini America

Blake Griffin, who’s rookie cards have been soaring in value, has just put his autograph on another Panini America item, an exclusive multi-year agreement with the company.

Blake Griffin of the Los Angeles Clippers joins Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers, Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder and John Wall, of the Washington Wizards as part of the growing roster of Panini exclusive athletes.

As part of the agreement, Griffin will be featured on Panini products, packaging, and advertising, but perhaps more importantly his autographs and memorabilia will be found only in Panini products.

Along with their other exclusive athletes, Griffin will be at the forefront of the company’s new Panini Authentic memorabilia division that launches next month.

In addition, Griffin, Bryant, Durant and Wall will be highlighted in the much-anticipated Panini HRX video trading cards that will feature with unique behind-the-scenes content and individualized footage.

2009 Panini National Treasures Blake Griffin Rookie Logoman Autograph Card 1/1 auction ends with an impressive winning bid.

If given the opportunity to purchase a 2009 Panini National Treasures Blake Griffin Rookie Logoman Autograph Card 1/1 or a 2011 Kia Optima, which one would you buy?

Some one has chosen the card.

For the price of the car that Blake Griffin jumped over to win this year’s Slam Dunk contest, his Panini National Treasures card just sold at auction for a winning bid of $18,800.

Griffin’s cards have been skyrocketing in value for the past couple of months and this is a clear indication that trend seems to be continuing.

You Say You Want A Revolution

Add caption
Sure affect the relic cards of the future, adidas will announce today that every NBA team will change their uniforms to the "NBA Revolution 30."  Made of materials that are "30 percent lighter and dry twice as fast" they are supposed to be more comfortable for the players, made with less seems and most importantly to card collectors "switching front and back numbers from heavier, dense materials to breathable mesh."  Hmmmmmm... sounds to me like its the end of the Basketball patch card.

No more large pieces of embroidered material, no more textural feel.  Will this send the price of current patch cards up?

How do you feel about the change?  Leave us a comment.
