An Early Look At The 2015 NFL Draft Order

The 2014 NFL playoffs are still in full swing, but what matters to collectors, or at least rookie prospect collectors, is the order of the 2015 NFL Draft.  While the order for the 8 teams still in Super Bowl contention has yet to be determined, the 24 teams that have been sent home know exactly where they stand in the draft pick order.

Defensive players have been popular first pick choices, but 2015 is looking like the year of the QB as both the #1 and #2 teams to pick could use a new offensive leader. The real question will be which player will be chosen as the #1 overall pick, Oregon’s Marcus Mariota or FSU’s Jameis Winston who just confirmed he will be entering the draft. The most likely candidates for the first defensive pick will be either USC’s Leonard Williams or Nebraska’s Randy Gregory.

Here is the current known order for the first 24 picks of the 2015 NFL Draft. Next to the team’s name is their 2014 season record, with the worst record getting the first pick. In the case of a tie, the order was determined according to strength of schedule.

Instead Of What Is In Your Wallet The Question Is Who Is In Your Wallet

Wallet card?!?!?!?

Really?!?!?!

Seriously, at a time when collectors are handling cards with the same care used by museum curators, why would ANYONE place a fragile 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 piece of cardboard UNSHEATHED in their WALLET?!?!?!?

maybe because its fun. maybe because its silly. maybe because others are doing it in a communal spirit. maybe one doesn’t need a reason. shhh... serious collectors will think you are crazy.

Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz and Craig Biggio Elected To The Baseball Hall Of Fame With Complete 2015 Voting Results

For the first time, three pitchers have been selected to enter the Baseball Hall of Fame on the same ballot. They also happen to be first-ballot candidates making this the second year in a row that three first timers will be honored. Add to that a player who missed making the Hall last year by two votes and you have the first time since 1955 that 4 players have been elected to the Hall in the same year.

Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, John Smoltz and Craig Biggio will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on July 26 as part of the Hall’s Induction Weekend July 24-27 in Cooperstown, N.Y.

This year’s voting saw the majority of returning players trend upward in percentages of votes, an usual sight as last year’s ballot saw most returning players trend downward. Only three players had their percentages decrease from last year’s totals, Jeff Kent, Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa.
