Imagine taking delivery on 363 cases of 2020 Topps Baseball Series 1 Jumbos and ripping them all open in one day.
Well, you don’t have to imagine what that would be like because that will be happening on February 4th in Arlington, Texas at AT&T Stadium as Topps hosts their Million Card Rip Party. Not only will you be able to watch the party, you can participate by purchasing personal boxes, cases and joining group breaks being conducted by the list of group breakers you’ll find later in this article.
In addition to watching all of those cards being ripped, there will be athletes in attendance, and Topps swag that will be given away with the breaks.
We’ve also included the types of ways you can purchase cards from the breakers. Some have already sold all their cards, some still have cards for sale, and some will be announcing ways to purchase their cards as the event gets closer. We will try to update this list as things change.
If you are new to group breaking here is an explanation of the terms used for the ways you can purchase cards. for veterans of group breaking, you can just skip to the list of breakers below.
Question - What happens when I buy cards form a breaker?
Answer - Instead of buying packs, boxes or cases of cards and opening them yourself, you purchase boxes or portions of boxes that are then opened by the breaker. You can watch them being opened live either on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram or other internet feeds depending on the breaker. The cards are then shipped to you already opened.
Question - What are ”Group Breaks”?
Answer - An amount of boxes to be opened are determined by a breaker and you buy a portion, called a spot, of those cards. You can buy one or multiple spots.
Question - In a Group Break what is the difference between “Pick Your Team” and “Random”?
Answer - In a Pick Your Team, it is what it sounds like. You want all the cards from the Kansas City Royals, you pay for that team. Some teams will be more expensive than others based on the current demand, card values and the chances cards from that team will appear in your break, according the the published checklist. The breaker determines the team prices.
In a Random, the number of spots are determined by the breaker and all spots are priced equally but have no teams attached to spot at the time purchase. At the time of the break, a random drawing is done to determine which teams are assigned to which spots. If you buy into a break that has the same amount of spots as there are teams represented by the cards, each spot will get one team. If the break has less spots than there are teams, some or all of the spots could wind up with multiple teams.
Question - What are ”Personals”?
Answer - Instead of buying into a break that includes a group of other people, you buy the box outright and the break is conducted just for you.
The Million Card Rip Party will be broadcast live from AT&T Stadium on February 4th at 4 PM ET. You can watch from at Topps' Twitter, their Facebook page, and YouTube account or directly on Topps.com. You can follow along with Topps on social media and with the hashtag #MillionCardRipParty

I personally don't join a lot of group breaks, but I gotta say it'd be fun to be in attendance for this giant rip party.
ReplyDeleteProps to Live Case Break for the innovative way they are distributing the vet base cards--"all vet base - split evenly, unsorted over all spots". Most collectors don't need HUGE stacks of the same card.
