The Order Of The First 20 Picks In The 2013 NFL Draft

Now that the 2012 NFL regular season has concluded the draft order for the first 20 picks of the 2013 NFL Draft have been determined.  The Kansas City Chiefs will have the number one pick overall.

At 2 wins, 14 losses, the Chiefs finished the season with the same record as the Jacksonville Jaguars but get the first pick based on the Strength of Schedule Tiebreaker.

The combined record of all the teams faced during the regular season determines the Strength of Schedule for any team. Jacksonville faced teams with a combined record of 138 – 118 while Kansas City faced teams with a combine record of 132 – 124.  Fewer opponent wins equates to an easier schedule for the Chiefs.

Picks 21 to 32 of the first round will be determined based on the results of the 2012 Playoffs with the winning team of Super Bowl XLVII getting the last pick in the first round of the draft.   The only caveat know to that is that Washington’s first round draft pick will go to the St. Louis Rams as part of a previous trade that gave the Redskins the second overall pick in 2012.  This was the trade that allowed the Redskins to pick up RG3.  (See the full details of this trade, use this link to see that post.)

So here is the order for the first 20 picks of the 2013 NFL Draft that will take place in New York City on April 25 – 27, 2013.
